Goals for my IT Career

Current Goals

I would like to set up my training in accordance with my current goals. For the goals that I have, I would like to do a second attempt for the Certified in Cybersecurity. After this, I will be doing the SC-900 and waiting until later in the year to do the Security+. Pushing out the CCNP ENCOR exam and waiting for some time to recertify my CCNA with it.

Also, working on the training for Server+, Cloud+, and Linux+. This training is something that I am working on for stepping stones to higher level certifications. I am planning to do just the training on these and work on some other certifications. These are like the AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-800/AZ-801, and the Linux Essentials along with the LPIC-1.

Training Goals

I’ve been training on the Server+ materials for around a few weeks. This one is one of the specialties that I would want to have. I decided to not go for the Network+ certification, which I want to just work on the training materials if I need a refresher. Some of the training is for Terraform, Ruby, Python and Chef. I am wanting to still do some Ansible training this year.

Main Goals

Decided that I have some things that I put down on paper as things I would want to accomplish in my career. These include getting the CCIE: Enterprise Infrastructure, the CEH, and the CISSP. I did change the focus from a CTO level to wanting more of a CISO skill set which is my fourth goal. The fifth goal is to work on more of a Corporate Governance, IT Governance, and Cybersecurity Risk based skill set.

Conclusion

Needing to get the Network+ just for a specialty with the Server+ is a little short-sighted. I am going for a more strategy based outlook and will need to stay under budget for these certification exams. I don’t want to just get every certification and am using the CompTIA training materials to provide some knowledge of the technologies for my career in IT.
