Blogging

I am stepping into more of a blogging role as a content writer. This is something that I am engaging in more so and I have four blogs including this one. For aaronwdejong.net, I am still doing it as a journal blog. With aaron597.com I am doing more of a Computer Networking and Cybersecurity oriented educational content for my blog posts. 

I am also doing aarononit.blogspot.com as more of an introductory Information Technology blog in addition to the newer one which is my blog on Substack. On Substack, I am dejongaaron and I will be posting more on that marketing channel. I am doing better on some of my additional profiles on platforms like TryHackMe and HacktheBox.

Training and Goals

For my goals I am training for both the Certified Associate in Project Management and the AZ-104. I am also planning on taking the CCNA Cybersecurity exam at the end of this year. I will be doing additional training on the Security+, which I am studying only with the training materials. There are other exams that I have slated for next year, but I am still working on my five-year goals.

I am doing some more training on HubSpot and Semrush with Inbound Marketing, Digital Marketing, and Social Media Marketing courses. I think that this will help immensely with my Content Writer role. Taking more time to learn the marketing side of my sole proprietorship could help me with monetizing my blogs.

Reading

I am taking a new approach to reading and will be reading the CAPM book more at work and I will be reading the AZ-104 book when I am off of work. I think this will help me stay more focused on my goals for both home and work. I am now on the 12th and 13th book for this year and will try splitting the books for a month or so.

Conclusion

With the goal setting I will be doing more Network Security and Cloud Networking oriented certifications. I am planning more on the CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Cybersecurity and the CISSP being done by the end of 2030. This is according to my five-year plan. I’m not sure if I want to focus but do think it is best for now.

The five-year plan is something that I am still working on and will also include my sports coaching and marketing certifications and courses. I am still wanting to do a master’s degree and will have to wait some time until I have a job. I want to do the Master’s in Network and Communication Management from Keller Graduate School of Management.
