Site Changes
I have been working on some changes to the website and concept behind aaronwdejong.net. These changes have allowed for a donation section on the About page which is done as a sole proprietorship not a charity so it is really for contributions and tips. This was done to help finance the website as I am paying yearly to keep the site content updated and for site maintenance.
Another change is that I am going down a new direction for this site and there are three main things that I will talk about in this blog. These are my journey back into IT while working through mental health issues, the second being Cybersecurity and Cryptography, and the last being Computer Networking. I am trying to do more articles and will do them on Medium or LinkedIn depending on the subject.
Changes on my career direction
I’ve been working for a few days on Hack the Box as well as TryHackMe and have made more time for Cybersecurity. I am doing this because it is more of a challenge where I can apply my networking knowledge to being in more of a SOC Analyst role. Would still do the Cisco certs and gain more certifications in the cybersecurity space which hasn’t changed.
Cisco certification study changes
There is still some anxiety and stress that is latent for me when I am studying for Cisco certs. The changes that I have made to my studying are to rely on my knowledge of Computer Networking, study for the CCST: Networking by reading the book and watch the training for CCST: Networking. I am doing this without studying the practice exams. This is more of an Aaron old school style to have a chance to pass or get info on what I need to do to pass the second time.
Conclusion
Having these changes in the website, my career, and studying already for the CCST: Networking has helped me calm down and have less anxiety. I am also working on implementing the three focusing objectives for aaronwdejong.net. Working on this blog post has allowed me to see this blog for what it is and also to attend to my goals for the site.
