Musings on Life

CCNA

I am studying for the CCNA and have scheduled the first attempt on November 19th, 2024. Being confident about the topics on the exam has helped control some of my anxiety regarding the CCNA. The exam that I passed before was the CCNA Routing and Switching. This exam has changed quite a lot in the past 10 years or so. I’ve been confident on this 200-301 v1.1 exam due to my familiarity with the material.

CCIE and Other Plans

I am pushing myself to take the CCIE 3 to 5 years from October 12th, 2024. Putting this exam at the latest in 2029. Wanting to do this as a mid to long term goal. Will try to get as much knowledge about this exam through my certification studies. Planning on taking the ENCOR and SCOR exams next year along with the Security+ and the Certified in Cybersecurity certifications.

I will be studying for these exams next year and want to explore more of the Cybersecurity and Network Security paths. There are some things that I am doing to gear up for being a Network Security Engineer. Planning on getting more certifications than not doing certifications and doing experience.

My main point is that the certifications prove your studying of the material where experience could mean they aren’t dedicated to growing. Expanding your knowledge is more noble than staying with the status quo. There are more goals that include Network Defense and Network Penetration Testing for my expertise in the Network Security field.

CloudX and Reading

I missed the Hashiconf ’24 and am doing the Online CloudX conference on November 13th and 14th. I will see how I have developed as far as my knowledge of programming and cloud computing are concerned. Currently reading the CCNA 200-301, Volume 1, 2nd Edition book with 42 books that I have read this year.

Conclusion

Some of my musings are helpful and will allow for me to expand my understanding of certain topics. I am wanting to explore more advanced studies in Network Defense and Network Penetration Testing. This will be helpful with the Network Security Engineer role that I am wanting to get along my career path. The last thought that I have is that my stress and anxiety are not as bad anymore and I am handling them as I go down this path.
