Certifications for Network Defense

Certifications

Having been studying Network Defense I am building a list of certifications that I could take. These certifications are the CompTIA Security+, the CCNA, the PCCET, PCNSA, and the PCNSE from Palo Alto. Some others include the Cybersecurity Associate and Cybersecurity Professional CBRCOR exams. For CCNP Security, there are the SCOR and SNCF exams along with the ISC2 CISSP certification.

There are some EC-Council certifications for Network Defense like the EHE, NDE, CEH and the CND. These are some of the certifications that I would like to do for Network Defense. I am studying for the CCNA and starting to study for the Security+. I have plans to do the ENCOR and SCOR this next year along with the Certified in Cybersecurity.

Plans for Network Defense Certs

For next year I am planning to focus on more cybersecurity oriented training and certifications. This will include the four main certifications which are the Security+, Certified in Cybersecurity, ENCOR which is the CCNP Enterprise Core exam, and the SCOR which is on my list. I think that specializing in Network Defense will help me standout in cybersecurity as a Blue Team specialist.

These certs are some of the ones that I am planning for next year. I want to explore more of the certifications on my list. Wanting to develop my expertise over time so I will be actively pursuing more certifications. Having some goals still for the CISSP, CEH and the CCIE: EI certification

Reading Update

I finished the CCNA 200-301, Volume 1, Second Edition book which was the first of two books for the CCNA. There are 42 books that I have read this year and the next one on my reading list is the CCNA 200-301, Volume 2, Second Edition. I am also trying to finish the CCNP SPCOR book. After those two books I am working on the new Security+ book that I bought recently.

Conclusion

Having been excited to take the CCNA, I am confident that I can pass the 200-301 v1.1 exam. I am taking the exam on November 19th at a testing center here in Aurora, Colorado. Looking forward to the certifications that I am wanting to take next year and will try to keep my list up to date on Network Defense certifications. There are also some things that have helped get me past my anxiety regarding the CCNA exam.
