Certification Goals
I am having some goals on where I see myself progressing in the future in IT. Some of these I have talked about and some might need to be on the table for me to do later. For the CompTIA certifications I will need to take the Network+ and Security+ for the basic competency. With the CySA+ and PenTest+ I can see myself grow into more of an ethical hacker or pentester.
For the Cisco certifications I will want to get up to the CCNP Enterprise with the ENCOR and ENARSI exams and the CyberOps Professional CBRCOR exam. This will be a key building block of my studies for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure later on. In order to pursue the CCIE I will need to get either the CCNP Security or the CCNP Service Provider which will be in my later studies.
Cybersecurity Certifications
To pursue the CISSP is one of my ultimate goals and I will need to get the Certified in Cybersecurity and the SSCP out of the way to pursue that goal. I have been thinking about the skills that I will need as a pentester and have given some thought to getting the Practical Network Penetration Tester and the PJPT which is a smaller certification.
Additional skills with EC-Council would include the CND, CEH, CCT, NDE, EHE, and SCE certifications. With a CDSA from HacktheBox, the eJPT and eEDA from INE and the KLCP and OSCP from OffSec I would round out my cybersecurity skill set. This will enable me to do some stuff that I would be able to work on for my own Cybersecurity and Computer Networking consulting firm. This will fulfill my obligation to eventually be a CISO, CTO or CIO which is where I see myself going.
Conclusion
If you want to know what I am doing for my next certifications that are coming up I will be finishing up my Certified in Cybersecurity certification, the CCNA, the SCE (SOC Essentials), and the Security+ certification. I will be reading up to get the CC exam finished and am now on the Certified in Cybersecurity All-in-One Exam Guide which I am doing before the CCNA 200-301 Volume 2, Second Edition book.
