Changes to my Blogs and Articles

There are some things that I have done over this week including setting up a new blog on aaron597.com. In addition, I have set up a new publication on Medium where I can add writers to the publication and get more reach. This new publication is called Aaron W. DeJong IT Articles. I made these changes to reflect my current outlook on my freelance writing role.

Change is welcome because I can make some money to supplement my income that I am getting from Disability. I am working on setting up my two blogs and my publication to monetize my efforts for this outcome. Working on doing more with the publication like adding more writers and some changes to the layout of aaron597.com.

Training

I have been training on TryHackMe and HacktheBox and currently have an eleven-day streak on TryHackMe and a two-week streak on HacktheBox. I am working on the Security Engineer Learning Path on TryHackMe and rank in the high 9000’s now. On HacktheBox, I am still working on getting through the SOC Analyst Path on the way to possibly getting the CDSA which is a moderate certification goal and will help with Blue Team concepts and training.

I am also working on the Certified in Cybersecurity training materials that I have left. This includes reading the two books that I have on this exam. Additionally, I have some things that I am working on for technical writing and the CCST: IT Support book and training on Udemy. Doing some more stuff with Cybersecurity on LinkedIn Learning and CBT Nuggets. I decided to work with the DP-900 on the weekend like I am doing for the Project+ and Linux Essentials certifications.

This goes over some things that I encountered setting up my Joomla Server through the Akamai (Linode) platform. This is my latest article, and I have posted it on my publication on Medium. My publication is called Aaron W. DeJong IT Articles and goes into Information Technology articles.

Conclusion

The changes that I have made over the past week are setting me up for success later and I will be able to write more articles for my portfolio in the Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, and Network Security realms. Change is welcome in this regard and is allowing me to be able to succeed in a writing context. There are things that I still want to do in Computer Networking as far as a job is concerned. This happens to be something that I will strive for along with my dream job of being a CIO or CISO later in my career.
