Corporate Finance Institute
For my birthday this year I have decided to get another year subscription to CFI which will allow me to get more knowledgeable in Finance. The change to the strategy is simple, where I want to be I would need to know more about Finance. This applies to being a CISO, CTO or a CIO which is the direction that I want to head into and eventually be an executive in IT.
The Corporate Finance Institute has been helpful in helping me discover what I want to do as far as Finance. I will be doing the Small Business Banker Learning Path that is more aligned to the Consumer Banking and Credit Analyst certification, also from CFI. Over this year I will be delving into this learning path and more courses in the Consumer Banking and Credit Analyst certification.
Book Strategy
There are some books that I still have that I am wanting to read more so. My strategy is to read the 33rd book which is the Cybersecurity – Attack and Defense Strategies book, the CCNA 200-301, Volume 2, Second Edition which did come by and then for the 35th book I will read the Certified in Cybersecurity book again. For this book I am wanting to re-read it again to get more depth to my knowledgebase in the Certified in Cybersecurity certification.
Strategy for my Skill Set
I am working on the new CFI related training material and am wanting to go more into Finance as a bridge to getting a C-Suite IT job. I will be also doing more skill set related things to build up my expertise eventually in Computer Networking and Cybersecurity. I’m planning on taking the Certified in Cybersecurity exam again, at a testing center, sometime in September.
For the CCNA, I am also looking at taking it by the end of the year which is my main goal for 2024. This exam, the 200-301 exam, is something that I should pass on the first time. I have put in the work and just need to go slow by processing the questions more thoroughly when I am taking the test. The CCNA I haven’t taken yet and will recertify hopefully by the end of the year.
Conclusion
I am putting in the work to develop my skill set in Microsoft, CompTIA and LPI certifications and will get the knowledge from these by studying for but not taking these exams. I am wanting to go further in my Azure Networking skill set which I will build on top of the AZ-900 and AZ-104 exams. By doing the Certified in Cybersecurity and the CCNA exams this year I can keep my budget on track and be a more functionable member of society.
