Getting a Job
Wanting to do something more in line with the job role that I am wanting to go back to. I have canceled the AZ-900 and am still working on multiple books to read for the Certified in Cybersecurity exam. There is a reason that I am doing something different, which is that I have been just studying for certification tests while getting new credentials. With getting a job I would need to work on some soft skills that will help me stand out.
I am reasoning that if I get some progress on the IC3 GS6 which is digital literacy and the Microsoft Office Specialist: Associate certification I could stand out with these resume additions. These soft skills are going to help on my resume because I have been away from work since 2014. The soft skills that I am improving on will help me get the job as a Network Administrator.
Choosing Cybersecurity
I have chosen to get some more skills after the CCNA like going for the Certified in Cybersecurity and the CyberOps Associate. The field of Cybersecurity along with Computer Networking will provide enough lifelong learning to keep me with a job once I can reestablish myself. Choosing Cybersecurity has allowed me to get both a challenge and also something to strive for, like with the CISSP and CEH certifications.
Computer Networking
I think that I am still not worried about the CCIE that I would like to accomplish in Computer Networking to establish me in the field. I am working on this task by taking the CCNA later this year or early next year. Working on setting up some extra certifications like the Network+ that I could get in addition to the CCNA. Having two CCST’s also helps get the third in IT Support from Cisco which I will do next year as well.
Conclusion
There are still challenges that I am working through as a Top 2% in TryHackMe along with working on some basic rooms in HacktheBox and the SOC Analyst Job Role Path. I’ve been going through some training materials and have started to look more at certification costs in order to make budget for what I want to do next year.
Going to read the CCNA 200-301, Volume 2, Second Edition next. I am on the 38th book for this year, choosing to finish the new Certified in Cybersecurity Study Guide today. Trying to project my progress and see where it takes me. I am still wanting to become more like a CTO for my ultimate goal by the time I am 51 which is in 2037.
