Cisco Certifications and Specialization

Cisco Certifications

I have scheduled the CCST: Cybersecurity for June 18th, 2024. This would be the second Cisco certification that I would have if I pass it. I am also looking at more Cisco certifications including the new CCST: IT Support certification that comes out in June 2024. Doing the CCNA v1.1, which comes out in August, will put me on the path to additional certifications that I would be interested in from Cisco.

Specializing in Cisco

There are some additional paths that I want to specialize in after I get the CCNA. I am looking to add the CyberOps Associate certification and then pursue the CCNP Enterprise for the ENCOR and ENARSI exams. With the CCNP Enterprise I would further my studies and do both exams to become a CCNP Service Provider with the SPCOR and SPRI exams. I am wanting to focus on the Service Provider Advanced Routing which would be my main specialization.

Further Studies

Getting to the point of my CCNP Enterprise and Service Provider studies would not be the last stop as I would like to learn more programming which would mainly be in Python, Ruby and JavaScript. In addition to the programming knowledge, I would like to do additional certifications from Microsoft, CompTIA, ISC2, and EC-Council. This would round me out within the computer networking and cybersecurity realms.

Conclusion

Doing these certifications will get me to the point that I can get back into IT and re-certify for the CCNA exam. There will be some things that I would do later on possibly, like the CompTIA Network+ exam. I am working on getting to the point that I can study and get past some of my social anxiety that I have for tests and socializing. I am doing much better and think that I could do a part time job in IT.
