Certification Testing
I am currently scheduled to take the AZ-900 on October 29th, 2024. I decided that the one for the Certified in Cybersecurity should be sometime in November. The AZ-900 is one of my side quests for getting the AZ-700 which is the Azure Network Engineer Associate that would need the AZ-104 as well. This is on the path to my goals not just a main quest objective.
I am studying the AZ-900 training material which is longer than expected. Also studying for the new CCNA v1.1 with new training material and the Certified in Cybersecurity training still. These are the next three exams that I am taking and want to get the CCNP Enterprise, SSCP, and the CyberOps Associate next year along with maybe the AZ-104.
Certifications
There are changes in the works for the certifications that I am wanting to take for next year which include doing maybe the CCNP ENWLSI, the Project+ along with the Network+ and the Security+ to take out the core competency level and progress with more Cisco certs later on in 2025 or 2026. I am working on the fundamentals this year and will try to get more certifications next year.
The certifications that are on my list do include later CompTIA certs like the CySA+ and the PenTest+ however I am focused on the AZ-900, the Certified in Cybersecurity and the CCNA for the rest of the year. For the cybersecurity side I would want to get the CGRC and CISSP eventually down the road. This will allow me to progress into more advanced roles and help with the main quest.
Reading Update
Currently reading the Microsoft Azure Administrator Exam Ref AZ-104 book as the 36th book. I am working on two books that I bought recently which are the CC – Certified in Cybersecurity Study Guide and the Microsoft Security Operations Analyst Exam Ref SC-200 book. This is to help get a better score on the CC exam. I have a third book which is for the Identity and Access Management SC-300 that I will read before my second try on the CC exam.
Conclusion
I am making good progress on the main quest and the certifications that I am doing in order to get my feet wet by doing a part time IT job. Not sure if I could get that job due to my experience level with 5 and a half years in mainly Systems Administration. I have 11 months experience with being a Network Administrator at Community College of Aurora which I quit and had mental health issues at that time as well.
