Network Defense
Working on setting up my learning plan for the year. I am planning on doing a specialty in Network Defense. There are some certifications already for this along with the Blue Team certifications. These Network Defense certifications include the N|DE and C|ND from EC-Council and the eNDP from eLearnSecurity.
The N|DE is the Network Defense Essentials certification from EC-Council. Also from EC-Council, is the C|ND, which is the Certified Network Defender. The eNDP or Network Defense Professional is from eLearnSecurity and these are more specialized Blue Team certifications.
Cybersecurity
In cybersecurity there are also some basic or entry-level certifications. These include the Certified in Cybersecurity from ISC2, the Security+ from CompTIA, along with the C|CT and the C|SA both from EC-Council. These will allow me to progress into the field of cybersecurity. I will also have room to grow into more of a security minded Network Administrator role.
I am wanting to eventually get back into the mix as a Network Administrator or maybe a Network Engineer. By doing this, I will learn more to take on the CCNP Enterprise Core certification which I am planning on doing in place of the CCNA. I am working on cybersecurity this year and want to still accomplish certifying for the Network+, CC, Security+ and the N|DE by the end of the year in 2024.
Conclusion
Going into Network Defense would be more of a Blue Team specialty that will help me get a job in cybersecurity and allow me to get up to a level where I can be confident enough to take the CISSP certification, which is one of the things that I will need to have as a CTO which is my ultimate goal. Choosing these three certifications will allow me to get my first specialty which is more of a Blue Team Defensive specialty for networking.
