New Thought Process

There are some new thought processes on what I want to accomplish in my career. I haven’t stopped wanting to be a CIO, CISO or CTO. I think that I am not ready for it yet. The new thought that I have regarding this is to work on a specialized path. This would be one that includes both the CISSP and the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure.

In order to do this, I would need to do quite a bit of extra work but think that it is more doable than the six career milestones that I am wanting to do for my career. I am pushing most of it out into the future and will be focusing on just the two now. These are hard exams, but I think with consistency and effort they can be accomplished.

CISSP

Working on the CISSP is something that I would want to do in stages. To me this means that I would need to work on other certifications that can add to my current knowledge. I have decided that I would need to get the SC-200 and SC-300 along with the Certified in Cybersecurity and SSCP. In addition to those, I would work on the CCNP SNCF certification to provide enough network security knowledge as a base.

CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure

The second certification is going to be harder to accomplish. This is the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure certification. In order to get this, I would need to up the ante on my Cisco skill set. I would need to do at least the CCNA Cybersecurity, CCNA Automation, CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, and the CCNP Service Provider certifications. This would help with the knowledge base that I would need to be a CCIE eventually.

Goals for Q1 2026

I am working on the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification and will be taking it in a few weeks. I wasn’t able to pass the HubSpot Content Marketing exam but did go through the whole course. Passed the SEO Essentials with Semrush exam so this goal is accomplished. I have been working on the technical training, programming and some sports coaching courses that need to be completed every three months.

Conclusion

I will be scheduling the AWS CCP exam in three weeks or so. Still working through the training materials. I would need to do more work to get my tenth IT certification. I am also doing the Youth Mental Health First Aid training program and want to still be a youth football and youth wrestling coach. Also, I am still thinking about doing tutoring along with the youth sports coach as a way to monetize my blogs.
