Personal Goals
There are some things that I want to accomplish in this industry before I am a CTO or CISO. I am having three main things that I want to accomplish. These are to get three main certifications that include the CCIE, the CISSP, and the C|EH. I am going more towards the CCIE at the moment and want to pick up some speed on the C|EH route by studying and taking the Security+ this year.
Another certification that I am wanting to do is the AZ-700 which is the Azure Network Engineer Associate certification. The best way to take that on is to do the AZ-900 which is the Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft. I am wanting to do these three main certifications to expand my skill set and have something to strive for. The CCIE, the highest level cert from Cisco, the CISSP and the C|EH are the certifications that will help me in computer networking and cybersecurity.
Reading Progress
Along with my three main goals I am also reading as a goal for me to finish 45 to 50 books each year. I am currently working on the Certified in Cybersecurity Exam Guide. This is the 27th book and when I get done with it I will read the CCNP Enterprise Certification Study Guide Exam 350-401 which is for the ENCOR exam. I have already created a study plan for this certification and want to get to this later this year or early next year.
Additional Goals
For some of the additional goals I would like to get some expertise in CCNP Service Provider and maybe a second CCIE, for both Enterprise Infrastructure and Service Provider. I am also into some more Linux type certifications like the LPIC-3 Mixed Environments. I wouldn’t mind to also get some certifications in Cloud Networking like the CloudNetX, coming out from CompTIA later this year.
Conclusion
There are certifications that I would like to do, however I do think that life is more of a journey. Maybe I will strive for the three main certifications and get some of them or maybe some other ones. I am not sure where I am headed on this journey but I think that the CCIE, CISSP, and the C|EH will be milestones along the path.
