Sports Coaching and Tutoring

Vulnerable State

Sometimes I am interested in other things, not just IT topics. More recently, I have been working on my sports coaching certifications. I feel that I am able to get a job as a youth wrestling coach. It is something that I have been working on and want to pursue. This is also something that I do not talk about as much and it puts me in a more vulnerable state than I am used to because of my anxiety.

I will be working on the USA Wrestling Copper certification in the second quarter of this year. I am also working on becoming a wrestling referee and want to develop my skills for that as well. This doesn’t mean that I am done with IT, in fact I want to specialize in cloud networking and network security. The Information Technology stuff is something that I am working on too.

Taking the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner – Foundational exam coming up in March. I want to finally do a second attempt on the Certified in Cybersecurity exam next quarter. There is also the HubSpot Content Marketing certification that I am still working on. I have been doing some more Semrush training and will be doing some other HubSpot certifications.

Sports Coaching

The sports coaching certifications that I am working on include the Accredited Interscholastic Coach, NFHS Coach Level 2, USA Wrestling Copper Certification, and the USA Football Youth Tackle 2026 Certification. There is also some Youth Mental Health First Aid Training that I am doing coming up in March. This will give me a good chance of becoming a Youth Coach in Football or Wrestling.

Content Writing

My sole proprietorship is something that I am still working on. I currently do around three blog posts and a newsletter episode every week along with 3-4 study plans and 1-2 articles per month. This is a good pace, and I am experimenting with short form content on Substack on Saturdays. I am able to get this done in a week and have some things to do that are from more of a business side of my sole proprietorship.

Conclusion

Having some more time to do things for my sole proprietorship, Aaron W. DeJong, so I am excited about doing some tutoring on the side. This would be for Information Technology in general or something like Computer Networking specifically.

I think that my anxiety is more controlled and I am in a better spot so tutoring might work for a part-time job in addition to my sole proprietorship. The sports coaching, marketing, and IT certifications are something that I am willing to go through and do as it will help in some of these aspects of my life.
