Training
For my training I am moving to a three-bucket system. The three-bucket system is that I am focusing on a primary, a secondary, and general skill sets. For the primary skill set I am working on my Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, and Network Security skills. On the secondary skill set I will be focusing on a Cloud Computing skill set mainly with Azure and AWS. The third skill set will be mainly CompTIA and vendor-neutral certifications.
I am currently training for my primary skill set as I am working towards my ninth certification. This certification is the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurity. I have been into more cybersecurity-oriented certifications that will be mainly ISC2 certifications. Looking into getting my CCNP Enterprise in my primary skill set. For my secondary skill set I am going to work on some AWS certifications like the AWS Cloud Practitioner.
Not working on the general skill set as much and want to take the Tech+ when it becomes available. In this general skill set I have the ITF+ and A+, in addition to the MS-900, AZ-900 and the SC-900. This is a secondary skill set in Cloud Computing. For my main skill set I am having the CCST: Networking, CCST: Cybersecurity, CCNA. I will be adding the Certified in Cybersecurity certification to this skill set.
Focus Change
I am working somewhat on the skill sets that I have been training on. There are skills that I am working on and have a somewhat better understanding of what I want to achieve. Taking this into account I will be focusing on getting to a better level with my primary skill set and will go more for Cisco and ISC2 certifications. I am training on some programming knowledge and will work with Python and Ruby more so.
Reading
I am currently on the 15th book that I am reading this year. Having better luck with getting slower in my reading and am not as anxious as I have been about reading a certain number of books per year. The book that I am reading is the CC Certified in Cybersecurity Study Guide by Mike Chapple. I will be reading the All-in-One Certified in Cybersecurity Exam Guide and the newer CCST: IT Support book along with the Server+ book that I have yet to read.
Conclusion
Making some things happen for me in my writing on Medium. I want to explore my field in IT as more of a Network Administrator role. This role would be more of what I can accomplish in the short term and will provide more of a base in the Networking world. I am studying to become a Network Security Engineer and grow into more of a Network Penetration Tester.
