Training and My Toolset

Training and Reading

Within my training, I am working on both the CAPM and AZ-104 training materials. I am going a little slower on how long I am taking between certifications and have broken it up into four quarters. For the quarters, I will be doing the last month as the month that I take the exam. So, for Q2, I am doing the CAPM exam in June and for the AZ-104 I will be taking it in September.

I want to keep progressing with my studies and have more of an on ramp to the fields that I want to study. For my reading, I am doing the thirteenth book and working on a Project+ book for the fourteenth book. The AZ-104 book is the thirteenth one and I am still going through my study plan for the CAPM. I am going slow with reading these books and should be more productive doing two, one at work and the other in my spare time.

Toolset

I have been working with the free version of Buffer and Trello for the past week or so. These tools are game changers and have amped up my productivity. With Buffer it is a social media marketing tool that allows for more elaborate scheduling across social media platforms. With Trello, I have been able to schedule the items that I have to do every day, and it also acts as a project management tool that was missing from my toolset.

In addition to those tools, I am going to be looking at doing Kit, Canva and Notion for adding these to my toolset. Working as more of a solopreneur has been different than what I was used to when I was working and has made me more aware of my skill set. This along with the tools that I need to get things done has made me better than I was just a week or so ago.

Conclusion

Doing a business is something that I have wanted to do since college and now I have some better skills and toolset. Reading has allowed me to stay ahead of the game for my certification studies and will be a valuable skill for in the age of AI. I am still wanting to do the lifelong learning process, and I am looking forward to the CAPM exam coming up in June. This will help me with opportunities down the road and put me on a better path to my CTO, CISO, or CIO position in the future.
