Training Update
I have been training for the Certified in Cybersecurity recently. This would be scheduled around the middle of July. I currently have some more training to go through on Udemy and some more reading before I take this exam. Also planning on taking the CCNP ENCOR sometime in December of this year. Working on more stuff for next year but will not decide until later in the year on which certs to pursue.
New Certification Coming Out
TryHackMe has recently unveiled the PT1 which is the first one for penetration testers. They have another one for SOC Analysts which is the SAL1. I think that I would like to see them do the SAL2 for SOC Level 2 and the SAL3 for Threat Hunting (SOC Level 3). I am also looking forward to other certifications from TryHackMe and will be sharing more about my journey in the TryHackMe realm.
Training Journey
There are other certifications that I would like to try including the SAL1 and the PT1 from TryHackMe. The certifications that I would like to do next year include the SSCP, CCNP ENARSI, SC-200 and the SAL1. I think that I am still in ramp up mode for the CISSP and want to get a Professional Level Certification from Cisco. For the CISSP, I was thinking of specializing in Network Security, Security Operations and Security Assessments.
These certifications would allow me to get more in depth on Security Operations with the SC-200 from Microsoft and the SAL1 from TryHackMe. With the SSCP from ISC2 I would get more of a general feel along with Network Security and Security Operations. On the Cisco CCNP ENARSI this would allow me to be more of a thought leader and potentially put me in the Cisco Champion realm.
Conclusion
If I want to be a Cisco Champion, I will need to work on it from more of a Cisco VIP standpoint that would include a Cisco Professional certification. Getting up to that level will allow me to be more of a thought leader from the perspective of deepening my expertise in Cisco. This is along with the blog posts, articles and social media posts that will get me to a Cisco Champion level.
I am working more on Ruby and Python and will be putting them in my plan for training more so. Allowing for some changes I am trying to become more mindful about Cybersecurity and Information Assurance and will want to eventually get a Graduate Certificate from Keller Graduate School of Management. This will be in some time as I want to try to get the CISSP, CGRC, and the CCSP all from ISC2. I just need to be consistent and more thoughtful about my studies.
