AZ-900 Certification
I recently passed the Microsoft Azure Fundamentals exam which is the AZ-900. This exam was a shorter exam than the CCNA that I passed in December. I did not have too many issues with the exam, got a score of 857 needing 700 to pass. Passing this exam has helped me with the Azure concepts. It will help in pursuit of the AZ-104 down the road.
The AZ-900 is one of the exams that I am needing to pass to reach the AZ-700. The AZ-700 is the Azure Network Engineer Associate and will help in my networking knowledge of Azure. Certifying for the AZ-104 is the next step along this path with the third step being the AZ-700. For the AZ-104, it is the Azure Administrator Associate exam.
Update to 2025 Goals
I have completed the first exam that I have for my goals this year. The other three goals that I am having for 2025 are the Security+ which I am currently studying for. The CCNP ENCOR that will be the third certification and the SC-900. These goals are attainable and will allow me to progress in my career by recertifying or by adding to my knowledgebase.
Training and Books
I am training on some additional exams this year and will take more in 2026. As preparation to next year I will be working on the Cybersecurity Associate, Project+, Server+, DP-900 and some AZ-104. Working on these might be just for skills to get higher level certifications. I will see when we get closer which certifications that I want to do.
I am on my fourth book this year which is the AZ-900 book still. Planning on reading more of my stack of books that I haven’t read yet. One of the books that I am wanting to read is the Security+ book again. I am more interested in Security this year and want to progress in the Cybersecurity field to reach some of my goals like the CEH, CISSP, and CCIE: EI.
Conclusion
Doing more tests can influence what I read and the training material that I am wanting to do. For instance, I am working on the Terraform Associate training and wanting to progress in my Ruby, Python. I also want to take up some more Ansible this year to round me out for future roles like a CTO or CISO that I want to grow into. I did have some test anxiety this time which wasn’t as bad as the CCNA exam.
