Article
I have published a new article on Medium and the link is the following. https://medium.com/@dejong.aaron/training-for-a-big-exam-3802351d4508
The article is titled as Training for a Big Exam and is my first article going into exam preparation and training. I am working on doing more articles that are more technical articles and some exam preparation or training articles. I am up to four articles now on LinkedIn and Medium all together.
Planning for a Specialization
Wanting to do a specialization in Azure and Azure Networking which is more cloud, however I want to do some more operating system oriented certifications and am studying the Linux Essentials training material. I would like to do Azure Networking to tie it into my Network Administration skill set and think that I could improve my Azure skills in addition to the AZ-700 certification.
The planning process is more in depth and would include some certifications like the SC-900 and DP-900. This will be for more depth at databases and security for Azure. The AZ-800/AZ-801 exams are something that I am willing to look at doing before the AZ-700. I want to also do the MD-102 and the AZ-104 before taking the AZ-700 as well.
Plans for Certifications
Having the urge to finish out my AZ-900 exam and have scheduled it on February 6th, 2025 which will be at a testing center. I’ve done some of the training for the SC-900 and am working on the CyberOps Associate training which is the Cybersecurity Associate from Cisco starting on January 21st, 2025. I think with me working on training for these to add to my skill set, I will be doing the Security+ and CCNP ENCOR to hone my skills later on in 2025.
Looking at Job Roles
In Aurora, CO I am looking at the job market for Network Administrator jobs and found more Systems Administration roles that are asking for Networking Skills. Due to this I am honing my skill set for a Network Engineer role with the CCNP ENCOR and the Security+ but need to work on a specialty. This is where the Azure and Azure Networking comes in to play for more of a Systems Administrator role.
I can see myself working on more Network Security certifications, however the job market is more in tune with Systems Administration here in Aurora. I will not need to work on the CCNP level skill set as much but will try to be better and go for it later this year. Having the CCNA v1.1 is a huge accomplishment and I have it until I recertify it before December 2027. I have also renewed my A+ which expires in September of 2029.
Conclusion
Willing to work now but just need the right fit as a Network Administrator or Systems Administrator. I am actually looking forward to working and think that I might find the role for me somewhere. I think that I will be able to get past my anxiety and my mental health struggles to find a job. Wanting to schedule my SC-900 when I am ready for that exam.
