Choosing My Niche
I have decided that I need to be more focused on just one subject. The niche that I have chosen is going to be Computer Networking. I am having no trouble with doing Information Technology or Cybersecurity content. This content is something that I might need to elaborate on in the right context. I think that Information Technology and Cybersecurity content is more for someone else to do for their niche.
Having chosen Computer Networking, it is becoming easier to make decisions for my future career path. I still will be doing my blog posts; however, I would need to change up the subjects covered by each. I will be working on this next week and also checking to see if the changes are working for me. I am thinking that aarononit.blogspot.com will be for CCST Networking and more introductory content.
Between this blog and the aaron597.com I will be doing more CCST Cybersecurity, Network+, and CCNA content. I am working on this, so it is subject to change. Information Technology and Cybersecurity still have a place in my heart. There will be less content on these and I am focusing more on Computer Networking for my certifications also.
Background
I have an Associate’s degree and Bachelor’s degree both in Computer Networking, in fact I started working with Cisco equipment back in 2006. In addition to the degrees, I first certified in 2010 with the CCENT and the CCNA. Later on, around 2024, I came back to it and hold two CCST certifications and the CCNA. They are the CCST Cybersecurity and the CCST Networking. Later on, this year I will be going for the CCNA Cybersecurity, and I want to start my CCNP studies after that.
I currently hold ten IT certifications, these are the ITF+, A+, Linux Essentials, AWS CCP, MS-900, AZ-900, SC-900, CCST Networking, CCST Cybersecurity, and the CCNA. Having these certifications will allow me to continue being a content writer. I will also be doing more for monetizing my blogs including writing an e-book on computer networking, doing tutoring, and also being a youth coach to support my sole proprietorship.
Conclusion
The reason that I am doing more for computer networking is that it really has been a part of my life since 2006. Wanting to make content in this niche is something that I will carry with me as it is part of who I am. The background that I have has enabled me to get more exposure than normal to computer networking. Providing content will be easier with just one niche to focus on.
